With the cold weather hitting suddenly in New York City, Cardi B took it into her own hands to make sure families in Brooklyn could keep warm. The Invasion of Privacy star handed out hundreds of free coats and sneakers to a public housing complex called Marlboro Housing in Brooklyn. Fans stood in line for hours for a chance to see the star, who arrived around 8:30 following her latest shoot.
“I didn’t know it was gonna be so big,” Cardi B told WABC. “My homeboy Chuck, he told me, ‘Hey, let’s give out coats to our community, I know somebody who wants to give out coats in Marlboro,’ and I said, ‘I’m pulling out, what’s up?’” In a post on Instagram, Cardi said that she “can’t wait” to put on a similar event in her home borough of the Bronx in the future.
