Feud Fueled Success: Drake and Kendrick Lamar's Diss Tracks Dominate Billboard Hot 100

The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is proving to be beneficial for both artists, as multiple diss tracks have now entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the latest chart released on Monday (May 13), Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us” debuted at No. 1. His earlier diss, “Euphoria,” climbed to No. 3 for its second week on the chart, while Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That,” the track that sparked the feud, sits at No. 6.

Drake’s response track, “Family Matters,” has also made a strong entry, landing at No. 7.

“Not Like Us” producer Mustard celebrated the No. 1 spot, proudly declaring Los Angeles “back up.”

“Sometimes you really gotta pop out and show people what’s up!” he said. “They really doubted me and acted like I’m not who I am! I’m thankful but not surprised; I never lost sight and stayed down. With my back against the wall is where I thrive. Summer started last week according to me! See ya sooner than you think! cc: @kendricklamar city back up!”

Despite the chart success, it appears the feud may be winding down. Drake seems to have conceded, as indicated by a recent post on his Instagram Stories. Over the weekend, he shared an illustration of a Japanese samurai facing a large cavalry, a nod to the “20 vs. 1” narrative he mentioned in his diss track “Push Ups.” Above the image, he wrote: “Good times. Summer vibes up next.”

Fans interpreted the post as Drake bowing out of the feud. “And just like that, one of the greatest beefs in hip hop history has just ended,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “He threw the white flag.”

While many, including Joe Budden, Cam’ron, and Ma$e, believe Kendrick Lamar emerged victorious, TDE label head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has a different perspective. He believes the real winner is the culture itself.

“This battle is over. A win for the culture, while keeping it all on wax,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) last week. “Especially when these publications try to make it something else.”

As the dust settles, it’s clear that this musical clash has left a significant impact on the hip-hop scene, with both artists and the culture at large benefiting from the rivalry.
