Yeezy, West’s partnership with Adidas, is valued between 3.2 billion and 4.7 billion and his highly-anticipated Yeezy x GAP partnership (slated to hit stores this summer) is worth “as much as $970 million,” as reported by Bloomberg. West is the sole owner and has full creative control over the Yeezy brand, which is contracted with Adidas until 2026 while the Yeezy-GAP agreement is in place for the next 10 years. Forbes reports that the “Ultralight Beam” rapper has an estimated “$122 million in cash and stock, $110 million from his music catalog, and $1.7 billion in other assets.”
With these new valuations, West’s net worth currently surpasses Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, and JAY-Z. Winfrey is reportedly worth between an estimated $2.7 billion and $3.5 billion. Jordan has an estimated net worth, upwards to $2.2 billion. Days ago, it was announced that JAY-Z is worth an estimated $1.4 billion.
With this upwards mobility, West is trailing right behind the richest Black person,Robert F. Smith, who is worth $7.05 billion. Smith is a tech investor and the founder & CEO of private equity firm, Vista Equity Partners, who made headlines during the 2019 Morehouse College commencement when he agreed to pay off all of the graduating class’ student loans. Later, he extended his generosity by paying off the graduates’ parents’ loans.
